Harrison ford plays Dutch Van Den Broeck, an internal affairs agent, who currently is in a state of mourning for his wife, who perished in a trajic plane crash. Kristen Scott-Thomas plays Kay Chandler, a dedicated congresswoman, also in mourning for husband who perished in the smae plane crash. Two completely different people, shattered by the same tragedy are comforted by each other, until the grim reality of the fact that their late spouses were having an affair hits home in this drama.
Harrison Ford can't make a flop action film. Harrison is still searching for an elusive Oscar (just like Cruise), and if any film will give him a chance of a nomination, it'll be this one. However he is still one of the hottest actors around, with an suspense movie What Lies Beneath due out soon, so inevitably this film will be a success. The female stars of The English Patient haven't really banked on their fame, so this really is Scott-Thomas's chance to make it really big. Overall I feel that this movie will appeal to an older audience, but will still be a hit.
