:- Milos Forman
This biopic is based on the late comic genius Andy Kaufman. It tells the tale of Kaufman's rise from a simple stand-up comic, to the star of Taxi, a show which launched the careers of stars like DeVito and Lloyd. Kaufman was well known for the many visages he portrayed, that his girlfriend at the time is said to have told the makers of this movie, "Guys, there is no real Andy Kaufman". Kaufman died aged 35 from Lung Cancer.
Jim Carrey. Ace Ventura -The Mask - Dumb and Dumber - Batman Forever - The Cable Guy - Ace Ventura II - Liar, Liar - The Truman Show. All of his movies are hits, albeit The Cable Guy is considered a flop. If anyone can cause cinema goers to flock to see this movie about a comic genius of the 70's, it is this comic genius of the late 90's. Kaufman is still a cult figure, and early word is that Carrey's perforance is so excelllent, that an Oscar is being mentioned (wasn't this the case with The Truman Show). The man behind the camera is Milos Forman, well known for his brilliant directing of movies like One Flew Over The Cuckoos' Nest, Amadeus and The People Vs Larry Flynt. So expect his directing to be of a high quality. Expect a box office hit.
If you have any reviews of this movie, please and I'll include it on this page.
